Paralyzed in a horseback-riding accident, Reeve continued to fight to walk again. With his wife Dana, he worked as an advocate for paralysis research. Together they opened The Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Resource Center, the nation's first facility devoted to teaching paralyzed people to live more independently.
